Quick Update....

Slightly falling behind, I know! :)   I have little to no time for anything until I finally finish school on May 9th- the 8th if I am lucky!

I started Esthetician school last January.  My original grad date was Nov. 29th but after getting a little behind during the summer months, I changed my schedule which pushed my grad date to May 9th.  I was going to keep going full speed until caught up and then change my schedule back to be done by Dec or Jan.   Almost caught up in September and what do ya know??!  Jonathan got accepted into the City Fire Academy.  When he started in October, it pretty much took over our life and there was no way I could leave 3 kids home with him each night to go to school.  He had way to much to study!  So I went on Saturday's only and continued to fall behind once again.  I knew once he graduated and had a fireman schedule,  (Every other day for 6 days then 4 days off) I would be able to go for three 8 hour days a week and not only get caught up, but maybe even be done by April.
Unfortunately, graduation was postponed in February and as one week turned to 2, then to 3- I was started to get concerned I would run out of time to make up my hours.   (I HAVE to be done by May 9th (the FINAL grad date) to avoid paying extra money- $12 every hour I go past that day).

On March 19th, the City manager (not Fire Dept) decided to "non-confirm" the entire class of 14 (laid off pretty much) due to allegations of cheating on 1 of the state tests. There was never any proof of cheating but enough red flags they felt better to boot everyone & save face rather than risk having someone dishonest & un-trustworthy cause problems for the dept down the road.  Understandable, kind of.  But ridiculous- YES!  These guys (& 2 girls) worked hard for the last 5 months for this dream job & they are all deserving.  All trustworthy good people!   Just really really sad.

A few things will be happening this week, with their atty filing a suit on their behalf for wrongful termination & the city manage also agreeing to meet with each one individually to see if she can get more info or even just be able to judge their character herself.   They are each going in ready to convince her they are good people & fight for their job back.  We'll see what happens.

In the meantime, Jonathan is actually enjoying hanging pipe again. Back at his old job, with old friends & once again enjoying that "good reputation" he worked hard for in the trade! :)

Me, well I am all over the place.  I am back to going to school Tues/Wed/Thurs nights & all day Saturday. Unfortunately that regular schedule is not enough to get done in time. So i have been leaving the little once with a sitter on Wednesday's to go to my school all day.  Having another friend pick up the older 2 from school, drop them off at another neighbor when the sitter left the younger 2 at 3pm so she can go tutor.  That neighbor watches them till 4:30 when Jonathan gets home.  LOL I swear I am using a lifetime of favors from all available friends & neighbors just to get my hours done.  I am pushing it still, so this past week I also paid another sitter to watch the little ones on Friday. Had to leave my school early to get home in time to get the older ones from school, running late so a friend piled them in her car to avoid them waiting at school 30 min after it was over. :(  Story of my life I guess until May 9th rolls around.

I am loving school and am proud of how much I have learned & how skilled I have become.  Bragging moment:  9 out of 10 clients I work on ask me my name again & when I am at work AND if they can make an appointment with just me when they come back! :)  I have also received a few $10 tips & even two $20 tips! (reg is about $5)  So its been fun & rewarding!

Isaiah "Bubba" is getting bigger every day. Last weigh in was 18 lbs but I bet he is 19 by now.  With multiple rolls down his thighs & 3 chins he is one FAT baby.   Fat & Happy is what we call him.  He is a total joy to have around, we just love him to death!!

We've had 3 unsupervised visits so far.  Every Tue/Thurs I drop Isaiah off at the Bonneville bus depot downtown at 10am and come back to pick him up at 1pm.   I know they love him & take good care of him, but I still don't like it.   Worst part? If they continue to do well, in about a month the visits will increase from 3 hours to____?, that goes well, they'll get overnight visits with him & then weekends. Eventually going home permanently to them.   I guess we knew this was possible, but not realistic.
I am not stressing too bad.  Feel at peace with it all. Either he is not meant to be with us and we need to accept it or he will end up with us in the end.   Can't prove someone is a bad parent when they hold the baby for 1 hour twice a week at child haven.  Maybe they need longer times with him to prove they aren't suitable.    That's how I look at it anyway.   With her track record of choosing drugs over kids I just hope they screw up before they get him back.  His poor little life is hanging in the balance.
Keep ya updated....
