Visitations

So visits are going pretty good.  Although "really good" would be not having them at all. But we're making the most of it. Every Tues/ Thurs at 11, we gotta chat & then again at noon when I pick up Bubba.   I walk out to them each visit and hand over the baby & just say whether or not he's hungry or diaper clean or something like that, then head back in the foster parent lounge. (where I keep Mya waiting with other foster parents)
We hang out for an hour and then at noon I go back out to pick him up.  I usually try to be nice & chat a bit more, when their visit is done.  I tell them how bubba is doing, how much he's eats, how well he sleeps, how dr. appt's went, & his upcoming circumcision/corrective surgery (it'll be a general anesthesia surgery on Feb. 26th).
They started off not being friendly at all and seemed rather annoyed with my small talk.  Duh, that's the point!  I'm going to torture you with my kindness! ;)  I know they don't want to deal with me at all, so I make sure we deal a whole lot!  LOL   But they are coming around and I honestly think they are starting to see we are a great home for him to be in right now.  Obviously they still want him back and they think they will have him anytime.  (total denial)  They do have a chance to get him back, sadly....but we won't know either way for months.  They brought in some clothes a week or so ago for him.... 2 newborn onsies (size 5-8 lb) and a neon clown mess of an outfit.  LOL I laughed cause he left the hospital at 12 lbs so I don't know what they were doing with the 2 onseis and I think they were stolen out of a pack of onsies.  The other outfit had a tag from Dillard's but looked like from the 80's or 90's. It's quite the outfit.  Here's a glimpse:

I thought it was awful- way worse than this picture portrays. The pants are BRIGHT blue corduroy and have that neon yellow around the ankles.  Suspenders are my favorite part! Such a funny lil' piece and would be great for a clown on Halloween!!  But we wore it to the next visit to let them see it.   They were a lil' surprised how bright it was. (ummm, maybe cause your sober now?)  They laughed & thought it was quite funny & even apologized for it being such a silly outfit.   Then they said they had TONS of size one diapers that he might outgrown before coming home....so they'd bring me some.  So they brought me just one box. (I think they want to keep the rest, cause they tell everyone they are getting him back any day).  He's already 15.4 lbs so we're using the last of the size 1's I have and moving into size 2. I'll have to even exchange the box they gave me!  He grows too fast!!  But it was nice to have them give us diapers- a $25 huggies box.

Each visit, we visit more and "Dad" is starting to pull back. I think he can see that I am getting quite friendly and surprisingly "mom" is too.  She was very hesitant to talk to me before. (Even told the case worker that looking at me or talking to me was too painful cause it reminder her of "Hope"- what they had named Mya before abandoning her) She looks me right in the eye and smiles when we talk and even laughs sometimes.  It is getting as normal as any of my visits with past birth parents....most of whom I really liked!  I think "Dad" is nice enough to get by, he doesn't want to talk to me more than is necessary and he definitely doesn't want to be friends. you can tell it bugs him that she & I are getting so friendly.  He'll say, "OK see you Thursday...." and try to walk away hinting for her to leave.  LOL So funny!!  Typical guy thing....
