Ok, so we've had almost 3 full days with little miss Ally now and things are still going really well. The first day was just plain normal. I mean a normal day for a normal kid. If you didn't know her, you wouldn't have known that she was just moved out of one home and into another- with strangers! Ally (she likes to be called) played Barbies almost all day with Carlaya and they were like best friends. Noah is even enjoying having another sister around. Of course that means he is playing barbies more than ever and back into dress-up clothes! :(
Yesterday afternoon we had our first "tears". While our running errands, she and Carlaya argued over who got to play with what toy in the back seat. She began to cry. But it was a soft broken-hearted cry and ending with Carlaya sharing after all. No biggie!
Then last night at Target, (while buying her a few outfits to wear) she found a purse she REALLY WANTED. I explained that I can't buy everything and that purse would have to wait for another time. She began to cry and explained that, "Miss Davis never bought me a purse". (previous foster home) Of course, I felt sad for her. But in a sense I can't give the impression that I'll buy whatever whenever. So I held out and said that if she is really good, we can come back sometime and buy a purse for her. She still cried, but seemed satisfied. :)
Today, we went to her 1st movie! She thought it was fun, but the movie (Journey to the Center of the Earth- free at Regal) didn't hold her attention enough. She got bored and wanted to leave, as did Noah. Then, we stopped by "Peggy's Attic" downtown by Child Haven to pick her up a few outfits. It is a non-profit donation center that gives FREE clothes to Foster Children. You can go pick out 3 outfits, pjs, shoes, undies (we bought some at Target instead), socks, and even 1 toy & 1 book. "Ally" or "Alexa" (she also likes) was thrilled with what she got. The bag seemed even more full than what I had helped her pick out. When we got home, we found lots of other fun things they snuck in for her. 1 in particular was a homemade quilt- donated by the .........CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS from SLC! How cool is that?! There is our Humanitarian Center in SLC hard at work! There was also a little wood car made by the "happy factory". I was tickled with that!! Because my kindergarten teacher from Enoch, UT and her family started that company and make those little cars for homeless children and refugees all over the world. Now we have one!! :)
Not to be long winded (is it too late?) but tonight we had to do the traditional thing that you always do within days of a new child (baby). Hand prints & Footprints- duh! :) She is just so tiny and petite, and because we may have her for a long time- I want to remember how cute and tiny she was when she 1st came to live with us. (we were told this will be a long term placement and we'll find out soon if it may be a possible adoption)
We love ya Ally!

The blanket and car thing is really cool. Are your kids getting along good with her? How is Noah doing in his own room? Or your room? :) I'll just have to call you and ask you all these ?'s.
That's great things are going well. Can't wait to meet miss Ally in person. The girls will have fun this weekend.
(sniff sniff) Awwww! That's so sweet! I hope it goes well!!! She is really cute! Love You!
