It instantly looked WAY better! (p.s. if you are wondering what on earth is with those dreadful holy curtains, those are the start of the Halloween decorations!) LOL I put up a lil' by lil' and those went up end of Sept. Didn't think to take a nice "after" picture before starting to decorate. ;)
During the summer when I really started to feel down with how boring our house was looking but not know how I could even change it..... I went to Ross for some new couch pillows. So I booted off the ones that came with the couch (BROWN) and put these on. They match perfectly and were my inspiration for painting with steel blue. If you look close you can see the BLUE in the pillow is the exact same as on the wall! I was thrilled with how great they go together! This computer desk/hutch was given to us and although I didn't love the look of it, it was bigger than the one we had. At our last house it was upstairs in the loft so I didn't really care what it matched. HERE it is right in the living room to the side of the couch... All other furniture is very DARK and this just glows its ugly yellow in comparison. I finally decided to change that!
I know it is super messy and unlike ME ;) In all fairness I didn't bother organizing it before or after painting it cause I didn't have time. It looks semi-clean most the time though. But in all fairness, it is the one place that becomes a collect all for us! LOL
Looks WAY BETTER right?! :) It matches our entertainment center perfectly! They even both have the lines down the sides.... look like they would've came together! ;) LOL
I am currently painting the chair for our kitchen table that Mya's booster sits on. Our table has 2 benches but we have a chair on one end for her booster/high chair. It took was the yellow oak color for the seat and white painted legs & back :( The table is black legs and darker wood stain on top. Didn't think to take a before picture, but the chair is almost done. Just ran low on spray paint ;)
One other mini project this summer, was to get the pantry downsized a bit to help with organization. As I started stocking up on goods for school lunches it was way over crowding my regular food in the pantry. So I bought a shoe pocket organizer and filled it with all their snack stuff. One school days I help with the sand which or main dish part, but they do the rest. They can have ONE treat, and one cracker & chip, but they also have to have one fruit! They do a great job packing a balanced lunch and enjoy doing it all themselves. Having it all hanging up in view is easy for me to refill as needed and see what we are running low on. :)
