Student of the MONTH! (Twice!!)

Noah is an awesome little boy and of course, me being his mama, already knew that! ;) But it's great to know his teachers feel the same way!

Each month every teacher picks a student of the month. In a school wide assembly the students are recognized and awarded. So there are only 9 from each class each year. Noah was the 1st student of the month back in September after school started! Well his teacher, not even realizing she had picked him before, nominated him AGAIN for January! But when I questioned her favoring him too much (he is a total teachers pet!!) she said this time it was based strictly on academics and he was it..... So I was ok being proud once again.

Then the school called again, letting me know Noah was teacher of the month for January? But for Spanish. The Spanish teacher sees almost 500 students in a day and out of all of them, she too thought of Noah for being the most outstanding, hardworking student! That made me the most proud because usually the "specials" teachers pick older students! We are so proud of our little hardworking kindergartner! Here's some pictures from the assembly:

All the students were as shocked as Noah was when they called his name for the last award. The students never know who is student of the month until they are called. The Principal & Vice Principal were also surprised he received two awards and they made sure all the students know this was a 1st and that Noah must be a really good boy to earn 2 awards in the same month! He was really proud!

*It was a little sad though because when the students come into the assembly and see their parents there, it's a pretty good indication that they are being recognized. So Carlaya's class came 1st and she lite up from ear to ear. I felt bad that it wasn't going to be her and worse- her brother was getting it not only AGAIN, but TWO awards this time!! I had to mouth it to her so she wouldn't be too upset when they announced it. She is always a good student and gets straight A's, but she is in a really good class with lots of outstanding kids. Hopefully she'll be picked before the school's end, but not all kids will get it. Only 9 kids out of 25 will get to be student of the month!
