Schools out!!

We are all thrilled to finally have school out (June 9th) and alarms clocks on snooze for the entire summer!! The kids had a fabulous year and both loved their teachers and classmates.
Noah made great progress this year and is VERY ready (academically & socially) for Kindergarten. I hope to have him even smarter by end of summer! ;) (and ahead of where Carlaya was when starting Kindergarten)
Carlaya is just too grown up for her own good. Luckily she is very mature, and very smart!
Her teacher reported that Carlaya is ABOVE grade level in Math, Reading and Writing!!! Yahoo- you go GIRL!
At the end of year awards ceremony, Carlaya was awarded "A" Honor roll, and the Citizenship award. (given to kids who are a kind, considerate friend and always follow the rules)
We are very proud of her and the little lady she is becoming. She is thrilled to be heading into 2nd grade and the changes that brings. We've decided to enroll both she and Noah in a Charter school this fall. Not only will they be in uniforms, they'll also be in a new school with new friends. She wasn't totally on board at first, but now she's getting excited.
Charter Schools are free to public, but you have to apply to get in, there is no transportation, and they are uniformed. We'll have a 15-20 minute commute (we plan to carpool), but I'm hoping its worth it for smaller classes. Also in Charter Schools, they teach your child at their level, not necessarily their grade level. So Carlaya, being advanced already will be able to keep going ahead of her grade level.
