It's that time of year again! My favorite time of year!!! Yes, Halloween is probably one of my favorite holidays. But I love that as Halloween approaches, it cools down, the sweets begin!, we head into family time and Thanksgiving, and then the beloved Christmas Holiday! This is the start of the "season". I love that.
I'm an October baby so I have always loved Halloween. Growing up, my aunt Barbara- who is Queen of Halloween (i might add)She literally has a ROOM in her house called the Halloween room, and it is filled floor to ceiling with costumes & decor. It's awesome! Anyway, she always came to my birthday parties. Fully dressed as a witch, unrecognizable. She brought her cauldron and would brew root beer and made it SO fun! Some of my friends were even a little afraid to come to my parties! But everyone looked forward to them- they were the BEST.
Well I am now grown, and each year I get more into Halloween. I hope to one day take over the role as "Queen of Halloween"! ;) Since I got married, we've bought a few little outdoor decorations here and there, but we still don't have much. When I go into Halloween stores I could be in there for hours looking at all the stuff. I want to be able to decorate INSIDE and out. Not all cutsie with toll-painted crafts and crap, but with the creepy, really cool stuff. I agree Halloween does get a little too carried away. Some stuff is getting down right evil, to horrific, and just too much. But I love the other- toned down stuff!
Well anyway, we did a Halloween Party once a couple years ago with couples and all of our babies, but not really kids. It was fun, but not really planned out. Just kind of last minute. So this year, I am already planning! And it is going to be awesome. I've already got Jonathan on board and we are going to make it sooo cool. I am going to try to totally convert the downstairs into looking like a haunted house. (without breaking my budget).
I have a list of some couples we already want to invite, but we'd love to have old friends there as well. So to anyone who is interested, Friday, October 24th! Mark your calender and start planning your costume- required to enter! We are going to have a costume contest as well.

How fun! I absolutely love dressing up! It's so much fun! But Brady hates it and so I'm always dressed up alone =( I wish we were here so we could crash the party! Parties are so fun... especially planning them!
Oh I so wish we lived closer and could come. Your not so planned party was awesome, so I can't imagine what this on will be like!
How fun!!! I cant wait to see pictures!! I would love to come down but that means Lauren would have to come too and she HAAAATES Halloween decorations so Im sure your haunted house would scare her to death lol!!
That sounds like a blast. Unfortunately I think that is the day of our ward Trunck or Treat and I kinda have to be to that. Hopefully when I double check my calender I am wrong on the date.

That's cool I wish I could come! Do your kids get scared with Halloween stuff? Tanner hates the life size witches and everything else that move. We went to a haunted house at the childrens museum and he made me carry him!
