Aaaaaaah.............relaxing

Our ward just had an amazing "SPA NIGHT". They converted 1/2 the chapel into a spa, I swear. As soon as you entered the building you could smell all kinds of aromatherapy and the most tranquil entrance to the R.S. room. The lights were down low and the mood was just so peaceful. They had a girl talk to us about starting a running regime (which I am not a runner nor really into it at all- although I did track in M.S.) but they made it sound easy to get started and work towards a 5K run. If we have enough get on bored- they may plan a ward 5K and even a Stake one. I think it might be really rewarding to try and make that a goal. We'll see!
Anyway, then another girl talked about bringing peace into your life. She obviously talked a lot about being in touch with ourselves as well as the savior. But she also talked about how to "replenish" yourself and really be at one. She told us how she meditates every morning and night after her prayers for just 5 minutes- and what a difference it makes. She had us all sit up straight with our shoes off and feet slightly apart and sit with our hands on our thighs face up and "OPEN". It actually didn't feel cheesy at all, but very inviting and relaxing. I may start to meditate as well.
Then the best part; they announce the 3 classes we have: Tai Chi, massages!!! snacks & making bath salts all in one, and then homemade aromatherapy remedies- using cucumber, oatmeal, sea salts, lemon, honey and a few different kinds of oils.
I had Tai Chi first. I have always heard of it, but didn't quite know what it was. It is somewhat similar to Yoga (so they say)although I'd never done that either. But it was fun, relaxing and just really cool. I may get online and order me some videos to start doing! It was an LDS lady from St. George that came and taught the class. Apparently she is world renowned for Tai Chi and works at some upscale spa in St. George teaching Thai chi. She was amazing! I loved her!!

Next we went into the cultural hall when they had all the couches and chairs set up for us to visit and snack while waiting for our massages. Students from the N.LV school were there to do the chair massages and 1 instructor. We also got to make our own bath salts with lavender/ peppermint.

Lastly, we had a class where we were taught how to make simple home all natural scrubs like for face, hands or feet. Different things from cuticles to face moisturizers. It was really interesting. I could really get into that as well! All the ingredients are what you would have in your home or could buy easily for cheap. I was really impressed. We tested out 5 of them on our hands.

All in all, it was a 2+ hour enrichment night, but it was sooooo relaxing and by far the best planned and funnest one I have ever been to! I just had to write all about it.

Fun! I did yoga here with a yoga instructor last week. I felt really weird at first, but afterwards felt really good. SO it was nice, but I don't know if it's something I would do all the time. How long is a 5k???

a 5K is like 3 or 3 1/2 miles. So not that bad. I can do that, don't know if I will, but I could- I THINK! :)
