Well we got a late start on Day 1, but too many things had to be done before we could head out. It was a very tirering (?) but a gorgeous one driving through the Carolina's and into Georgia. I was anxiously awaiting the Welcome to south Carlolina sign, but after seeing 10 kazillion signs advertising some stupid South of the Border place I was watching the left side of the road to see what all the fuss was about. I see a giant sombrero out the left and all the "south of the border" hum and hah, so I pull out my camera to snap a pic, but afterwards I look to the right just as we pass this gorgeous brick wall with "Welcome to South Carolina" on it and pretty water fountains shooting up around it. ARE YOU KIDING ME!!! I was so mad, I wasted my shot on a sombrero! But I knew getting started this late, I wasn't even going to ask Joanthan if we could stop so I could get a pic. Oh well! We did drive through lots of beautiful green trees pretty much the whole way. You couldn't even tell when we passing through a city, unless there was a thin spot through the trees. It was a pretty drive. And the Georgia sign, well I guess I just spaced that one all together. Amber and Doug were asleep, of course!! so they missed it, as for me, I guess I was sleep driving! Scary thought, I just remember starting to enter a city, called Atlanta and then I went to bed!!
