Our lives have been pretty busy lately, baby or no baby. I have a few posts to catch up on, but I thought I'd just jot down some happenings right now.....
OUR LIFE:
Jonathan worked a marathon last week. Mon- 10 hours, Tues-17 hours, Wed.-14 hours, Thurs- 12? hours, Fri- (supposed to be OFF) 6 hours, Saturday- EMT Class for 9 hours, Sunday- Ambulance ride-along- 12 hours! Pretty safe to say, today is the first day we've seen him in a while! ;) and go figure, now he sick (and grumpy) too little sleep, too MUCH work!
Baby Cherise caught my cold, which I caught from Noah, which Jonathan caught from me. She started sneezing like crazy on Wednesday and by Thursday was a little congested and had a runny nose. Sad, but she faired well. Not too fussy for being sick, but definitely not herself. She is usually very happy and sleeping or content all day long.
The kids have been so funny lately. Or maybe, I am just entertained easily since I've not had an adult conversation all week!
Noah: (came inside wet in his swim suit...) "MOM! Guess what?!, Jesus blew cold air all over me and I can't dry off!" me: "oh honey, I'm sorry you're cold, but Jesus isn't too blame- It's mother nature." "Huh?" LOL
Carlaya: (after neighbor dogs went on ANOTHER barking spree) "UH! They never stop!! Don't their mouths get tired?!" ;)
Carlaya: "Mom, Santa is pretty old right?" yeah. "Was he born in the 80's?" LOL- No Carlaya I was born in the 80's. He's been around since before great grandma. "Was he and Great Grandma Roe friends when they were little?"
Noah's latest phase is starting every sentence, story, question, etc..... the SAME! ...."uh, like..." AAAH! Shoot me, I am so tired, of "Mom, ....uh like......"
Tonight after organizing the computer desk and doing some laundry I realized it was 7 o'clock and I hadn't even started dinner. My poor kids! I ran down to pull out some chicken and asked sickey-poo Jonathan if he could just fire up the grill for me. The kids wanted to ride bikes and I knew that would keep them out of my hair a little longer. Meanwhile, total chaos erupts!
Jonathan storms inside because the propane JUST ran out! Cherise starts to cry because she's hungry. I give her the bink and run to Lowe's to exchange the tank. Back in a record 12 minutes! Yay, super mom! Jonathan hooks up the tank as I scramble to start the rest of dinner and make a bottle. background: pounding on the door (prob the kids, right?) Jonathan storms in even madder, the new tank is faulty- doesn't work either! Cherise is screaming now getting impatient for her bottle. I ignored the pounding knock....but then heard blood curdling screams outside! Oh Sh#t! NOAH AGAIN! You gotta be kidding me. I run to the door to be greeted by neighbor kids with Noah. He is gushing blood at the mouth. Cherise screaming, Jonathan irritable, Carlaya missing in action (apparently just left her brother in the street to go play at the park!!) AAAAH!
I shove cold, wet paper towels in Noah's mouth and Jonathan comes to "evaluate him" EMT style. I sit on the couch to feed Cherise, and made Noah lay on the floor in front of me so I can soothe him with feet. Hey! My hands are busy ok?! It was good enough for him. Cherise is full and Noah is finally done screaming. Jonathan ran to Lowe's to exchange the new tank. I decide to run vacuum the van real quick. WHY? Because I have OCD, ok?! It needs to be cleaned and I'm not putting it off any longer! LOL
Now 8:45pm, dark outside, dinner almost done. Ha! Wait, where the heck is Carlaya? Probably mugged at the park down the street, that's where! Slight panic until she came walking home after my yells for her. Major attitude!! :( Family dinner: 9:10 pm. ....Shut up, put your pj's on- get in bed! (not really that harsh though) sigh of semi-relief......
Despite being stressed out and busier than usual with Jonathan's schedule, I am doing well running on less sleep than normal. Here's to another.....SLOWER week! ;)
